College Guidance
The mission of George School's College Guidance Office is to help you find a college that is right for you. It's to help you "let your life speak." That's a Quaker phrase we like to use around here that, in practical terms, means you'll get lots of individual counselor attention and you'll look at lots of different colleges. It's not a cookie cutter approach. Yes, you might look at a college or two that's a household word but the real goal is to find that special place where you'll be happiest and most productive.
To do that, you have plenty of resources. There's the George School access to the Naviance college search program, you can meet college reps when they come to campus, or even do some research on your own.
But far and away the best resource you have here are the counselors. You'll be matched with one your junior year who will work closely with you through the entire process. And our diverse student body means our counselors have worked with and looked at a very wide range of schools, everything from the most selective to technical schools. Our counselors attend conferences, visit college campuses, and network with other independent schools, so they're well trained at advocating for you, helping you, and, then, ultimately, helping you make the big step to college.
