College Planning with Naviance
There are so many great colleges and universities out there in the big world, you may be a tad overwhelmed at how to choose the one that's best for you. Or maybe you already have a few top choices, but you wonder how applications from other George School students have fared at those colleges. To help you with all this, one of the resources we have here at George School is Naviance, an internet-based planning program that helps you, your parents, and your counselor make decisions and plans for college.
Naviance has a lot of great features. Once your account is set up you can take a personality/interest inventory, do free SAT preparation, research and compare colleges, create your own resume, and find colleges suited to your interests and qualifications. You can even get some sense of your chances of being accepted into a particular college. There are calendars to track scheduled visits by college representatives and a place for you to keep notes on the whole process. You and the College Guidance staff will communicate regularly through Naviance's Family Connection. And, as we said, your parents can access it too.
College Guidance will create an account on Naviance’s Family Connection for each student and parent during their first year at George School. Additional features of Family Connection are activated for juniors and their parents when they begin working directly with the college counselors.
