Boarding Students
When you're a boarding student at George School, you get the complete experience. You have 24/7 access to everything that's great about this place and you don't even have to figure out who's picking you up at the end of the day.
Of course, living away from family and familiar friends can be hard, especially in the beginning. But you'll learn lots about yourself. (Even though you thought you knew you!) You'll become more self-directed and incredibly good at managing your own time.
And living at George School doesn't mean living alone. Far from it. The community here is just that—a community—and it's here for you and with you. Faculty, staff, and other students are always around to share jokes or advice and, ironically, as you become more independent, you'll also learn how to ask for and get help from others. You'll learn to work better with people.
George School's boarding population is large—more than half the students live on campus—and diverse (your roommate might be from Kentucky, Korea, or Kenya). The campus is close to New Hope, Princeton, Philadelphia, even New York City so there are lots of possibilities for weekend adventures. In fact, you might even go home with a day student and meet the family. Actually, you might already know them since day students' parents are vital to life here. (They bake and bring us cookies and homemade lasagna. Need we say more?)
Of course, most of the time you'll probably want to stay on campus on the weekend. In fact, depending on the event, instead of going home to visit your parents, they might want to come here. (And they can take you out to really good restaurants when they do.)
