Gatherings & Overnights

FOR THE PROSPECTIVE STUDENT:

So, you're considering coming to George School as a boarder. You've had the tour. You've had the interview. And now—
TA DA! It’s time to consider visiting for an overnight.

The Sunday Admission Overnight: 3:30 p.m.

You and your family will first head to the dorm for an informal meet and greet with the dorm staff, senior prefects, your host, and some members of the Admission Office.

We will have snacks, acquaint you with the dorm and help you get settled before your parents attend the Admission Gathering. Once your parents leave, you really get to experience what it is like to be a George School student! You'll sleep in the dorm and attend classes the next day. On Monday you will be picked up in the Admission Office at the end of the academic day.

FOR THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

The Sunday Admission Gathering: 4:00-5:00 p.m.

After your child is comfortably settled in the dorm, the adults will head to the Admission Office for an informal get-together. At this time there will be faculty members on hand to answer questions about academics, including the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs, creative and performing arts, and athletic programs.

Admission Overnight and Gathering FAQs

What time should we get to George School?
Make sure you are here at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday to register at the dorm and take a mini tour, meet dorm staff, hosts, and prefects, and ask any questions of the residential life staff you might have before going to the Admission Gathering.

Do I have to register in advance?
Yes, please call Whitney Jackson in the Admission Office at 215.579.6521 or email whitney_jackson@georgeschool.org if you would like to attend one of our overnights and admission gatherings.

Where do we go at 3:30 p.m. for the overnight and gathering?
The overnight and gathering begin in the dorm that the prospective student will be visiting. Enter the first entrance to George School and follow signs to the appropriate dorm. Current eighth and ninth grade boys will be visiting Campbell Dormitory and current eighth and ninth grade girls will be visiting Westwood Dormitory.

Can you remind me of directions to George School?
Here’s a link to get directions to George School.

For those of you who rely on a global positioning system (GPS) software, here’s an IMPORTANT WARNING! For reasons too convoluted to explain here, some GPS software will reveal directions to George School only if you enter Langhorne PA 19047 as the “town,” instead of our mailing address of Newtown PA 18940.

REMEMBER, by mail, we are Newtown…but by GPS, we’re Langhorne. Go figure.

Sunday Admission Gatherings are scheduled on the following dates:

Arrow Narrow Sunday, January 22, 2012
