The George School varsity boys’ basketball team lost their first game of the season to Perkiomen 70-34 on Saturday. After an excellent first quarter, in which senior captain Trevor Stone scored 8 of his team high 16 points, the Cougars were very much in the game, trailing 15-12. Perkiomen increased the pressure in the 2nd quarter and we were only able to score 2 points as the lead swelled to 25 points by halftime. We played well in the 2nd half, but the deficit was too much to overcome. Junior Sekou Kaba added 10 points in the losing effort. Although the result is not what the team was looking for, I anticipate a bright future and better results as we move forward.

The varsity boys' basketball team defeated The Center for Learning, 57-50 in the home opener on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Trevor Stone lead the Cougars in scoring with 19 points. Senior Jeremy Tyson and junior Sekou Kaba each scored 12 points for George School, while Chris May added 10 points, off the bench. At times, we were inconsistent offensively and we surrendered 28 foul shots to our opponent, but I was very proud of the resilience we showed down the stretch and I was ecstatic that we were able to hold on for the victory.

The George School varsity boy's basketball team earned a victory on Saturday vs. Morrisville. Junior Sekou Kaba lead the Cougars in scoring with 16 points. Senior Captains Trevor Stone and Sam Kauker each added 8 points and senior Jeremy Tyson and junior Chris May each contributed 5 points. Although our offensive was more fluid than it had been in several games, our defensive intensity is what sealed the win for us. If we can continue to hold our opponent to under 40 points, we are going to win a lot of games this year.
