George School scored 3 runs in the 6th to tie the game at 6, then went on to score 1 run in the bottom of the 7th to beat  previously undefeated Friends Select School. In the bottom of the 7th, Emily Dunbar ripped a double, advanced to 3rd on a sacrafice and eventually scored on Katelyn Richerts single down the 3rd baseline with 2 outs and a 3-1 count.

Captain Steph Heys '12 hit a 2-run homerun in her first at-bat of the game to open up the hitting spree. She went 4 for 4 on the day in her last regular season home game. The team tallied 16 hits and played flawless defense.

Congratulations to the varsity softball team for winning their division and earning the second seed for the FSL playoffs! George School will be hosting third seed, Friends' Central, while first seed, Friends Select, will be hosting fourth seed, Abington Friends. The semi-final game takes place on Tuesday, May 15 at 4:00 p.m. at GS. Come and support the girls! They have worked hard all season and your cheers would be much appreciated! Cheer proud and cheer loud!

Unfortunately the Girls' Varsity Softball FSL Semi-finals has been postponed yet again. It will be played Thursday, May 17 (tomorrow) at 4:00 p.m. at GS. Our field is playable, thanks to the hard work of Dave Kosan and the grounds crew, BUT the other semi-finals game (AFS at FSS) could not be played due to poor field conditions. It is a League rule that when one semi-finals game is canceled more than 3 hours before game time, the other game must be canceled as well. Hence we are playing tomorrow! Come on out on Thursday, as it is supposed to be a beautiful day, to cheer for the girls' team!!! Go, GS Cougars!
