George School's JV volleyball team won its first match against Princeton Day School 2 games to 1. After losing the first game to PDS, the team came back for a definitive win in game two. In game three, the deciding game, George School dominated with strong serving from Esther Tang, Emily Dunbar and Maggie Chen. The girls played a smart match using their best skills. They're proud of this first win.

Last Friday George School's JV Volleyball team beat Shipley School 2-0. It was a terrific match with excellent play on the part of both teams. George School won the first game 25-20. The second game was a real nail biter with a winning score of 32-30. The girls played a particularly strong defensive game and they remained focused during that tough point-by-point ending of game two. Their current record is 2-0.

Directions to Germantown Academy

• Highlights

George School's JV Volleyball team lost it's first match of the season against Germantown Academy 2-1 (25-17, 12-25, 14-16). The girls played a really competitive game and almost won the match until GA pulled out two strong offensive points at the end of game three. There was excellent defense from our whole team and Kirsten Hellmuth and Jillian Kirk each managed to save two amazing plays by sprinting to a ball headed out of bounds. Maggie Chen kept GS in the game as well with her consistent and error-free serving.

Game scores: 26-24, 20-25, 7-15

Tough loss because the team played extremely well in the first game. As pressure increased during the second and third games GS players fought to hold their lead but ultimately succumbed to PDS.

George School's JV volleyball team beat GA 2-0 for their final match of the season. The second game was a real nail biter with a final score of 27-25. In that game GS was behind 17-23 and came back to win it. The officials were impressed with the girls' level of play and how far they've come for such a young team.
