Varsity Girls Volleyball 2011-2012 Season

    Despite the loss, the volleyball team had a great start to the season against PDS. The girls worked together 100% of the time, brought a lot of energy to the court, and showed some impressive skills.

    Katelyn Richerts contributed 6 kills. Allie Goldberg, 3 kills. Kira Schneider had 2 aces and 10 digs. Clarisse Taboy played solid defense with 12 digs.

    The girls worked hard against Shipley. Everyone contributed in the match to show our fans what we're capable of. We appreciated all who came out to support us!
    Some stand out performers for the day: Serina Durand's setting skills, Molly Gorelick's defense and serving, and Melissa Jin's defense.

    GS helped Stuart Country Day School make history today by participating in their first ever volleyball game! The girls did a great job demonstrating team work, sportsmanship, and class in our win over Stuart.

    Some stand out performances included Allie Goldberg and Kira Schneider's ability to place their serves precisely. Halee Stroh made a strong showing at the net. And both setters, Serina Durand and Lauren Dolinsky, did a nice job of moving the ball around on offense.

    The volleyball team played a tremendous game against Germantown Academy, despite the loss.

    Our girls came out strong at the start of the match, keeping GA on their heels, working hard both on defense and at the net. Every player contributed on defense and really made an impression in the GA gymnasium!

    Clarisse Taboy lead the team with 14 digs! Halee Stroh was strong at the net. Maddy Sweitzer had 3 blocks and helped motivate the team with her serving. Allie Goldberg's hitting was consistent and effective. And Serina Durand lead the offense with some aggressive setting!

    GS Volleyball put up a tough fight in their loss against Shipley. Everyone contributed the best they could on both offense and defense. Clarisse Taboy was, once again, dominant in the back row and with her serving. Halee Stroh, Molly Gorelick, and Katelyn Richerts proved themselves worthy in the front row. And our setters, Serina Durand and Lauren Dolinsky, helped rally the offense.

    The girls fought hard in their loss against GA. Halee Stroh tried to spark up the offense with some great blocks at the net. Clarisse Taboy kept the defense alive with some impressive digs from the back row. The team continues to work together and find ways to make connections in each match. We always walk out of the gym with our heads held high!

    The Varsity Volleyball team showed total control and confidence in their WIN against PDS! It was a long, hard-fought battle but the girls worked to stay on top at the very end to come home with the victory. Every player was engagedat all times and they worked together during long rallies to earn points. Katelyn Richerts had 4 blocks and 4 kills. Lauren Dolinsky had 9 digs and a great serving rally during a crucial point of game 4. Halee Stroh had 7 kills and 2 blocks (the last block to win the match). Clarisse Taboy had 25 digs some impressive serving! Allie Goldberg led the team with most serves and 12 digs. Molly Gorelick stayed involved in every play and Serina Durand contributed with her setting skills and her vocal encouragement. I am so proud of this entire team!!

    The volleyball team celebrated and honored their seniors in another enjoyable game against Stuart. Seniors: Kira Schneider, Katelyn Richerts, Melissa Jin, Sharon Tsai, and Meredith Allen played 100% of the time. The worked together and achieved some goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the season. We are all so proud of our seniors and wish them nothing but the best!!
