Art for Relief

George School's seventh annual Art for Relief, a student-organized night of art to raise money for relief efforts, will be held at George School on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Admission is free; donations are encouraged.

The evening will begin with an art show and silent auction at 6:00 p.m. in the meetinghouse and conclude with a performance at 7:30 p.m. in Walton Center Auditorium.

All proceeds from this year's event will go to Philabundance, which serves low income residents at risk of hunger and malnutrition, of which twenty-three percent are children and sixteen percent are senior citizens. The organization gets food directly into the communities through service programs or a network of agencies, which include food cupboards, neighborhood distributions, shelters, and emergency kitchens.

The art show, whose theme is “Freedom from Need,” will feature work produced and donated by students, faculty, and friends. The silent auction will include artwork contributed by local professional artists, along with other items donated by local businesses, alumni, and parents. T-shirts also will be sold at the event.
