CulinArt

At mealtimes, students, faculty, and staff eat together in the dining room, where the menu is served buffet-style by CulinArt Inc., George School’s food service provider. CulinArt serves some of the most respected colleges, universities, graduate programs, and independent schools in the country.

Fresh and Healthy

CulinArt is committed to offering Fresh and Healthy foods so that students can make healthful food choices for lifelong health.

George School's CulinArt Food Service Director, Joe Ducati, has committed to CulinArt's Fresh & Healthy program and the USDA Food Guide Pyramid and Dietary Guidelines.

As a part of the Fresh & Healthy Program, food choices meeting the following standards will be available in the dining room daily:

*No more than 35% of total calories from fat (not including seeds and nuts)
*No more than 10% of calories from saturated fat, including trans fat
*No more than 1000 mg of sodium per serving
*No more than 35% sugar by weight

The following will also be available every day, as outlined in the USDA Food Guide Pyramid and Dietary Guidelines for Americans:

*At least one vegetarian option that includes a vegetable or fruit component
*Fresh seasonal fruits, particularly those with high fiber
*Fresh seasonal vegetables, including raw vegetable salads
*Reduced fat and fat-free dressings
*A variety of lower fat and enriched grain products
*Whole grain bread alternatives
*Low fat and fat-free milk or equivalent milk products
