George School Global Service Program
The Global Service Program is designed to enhance the scope and quality of international service-learning trips for secondary school students by providing training programs for adult leaders and by hosting transformative international service-learning experiences for students.
Our 2012 program includes service learning trips to the Amazon and cloud forest regions in Ecuador, and to Beijing and ethnic Miao villages in rural China. More information on these trips can be found on our Program Details 2012 page. For a flavor of past programs which included trips to China, Cuba, and Ecuador, visit our blogs.

In June and July of 2012, the Global Service Program will provide three special service-learning programs. Program One is a Faculty Institute for Service Learning to train future service-project leaders from secondary schools so that they have the skills to create and lead international service-learning trips for their students. Program Two combines the Faculty Institute with international service-learning experiences in China and Ecuador. Program Three combines a Student Institute for Service Learning with international service-learning experiences in China and Ecuador.
Thanks to a partnership with the Sino-US Cultural Communication George School Foundation, we are able to offer a number of significant financial aid grants to teachers who would like to participate in the China program. Please contact Pauline McKean at 215.579.6541 to learn more about this opportunity.
The Global Service Program is made possible through an Educational Leadership Grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation. |
