George School Day Camp: Facilities
George School is a wonderful place to experience the beauty of nature. The campus consists of over 240 acres of property, much of it wooded. We also have access to many different buildings that serve as locations for indoor activities in the event of rain or extremely hot weather. We have two gymnasiums on campus in which we play many of our group activities and games.
The eight-lane swimming pool is indoors and provides refreshing relief from the sun on hot summer days!
In addition to the many acres of fields for playing various games, we also have two sets of tennis courts, an equestrian riding ring, an indoor nature center, an air conditioned computer lab, an arts and crafts studio, a dance studio, a theater stage, and a full-service cafeteria.
George School, a coed school for students in grades nine through twelve, was founded in 1893 by members of the Society of Friends. The school teaches that each person shares a responsibility for helping to make the world a better place. The student body is diverse, representing twenty-one states, thirty-two foreign countries, and a variety of ethnic, racial, religious, academic, and economic backgrounds. Each year more than $5 million in need-based financial aid is provided to eligible students.

Cafeteria Food We are fortunate to have access to the same food service that serves George School all year long. With many of the faculty members and administrative staff members still on campus during the summer, there is no drop-off in the quality of food for day camp.
Among the wide variety of menu items that campers can choose from, there is always a choice of hot entrees, a huge salad bar, a deli bar, fresh fruit, plenty of beverage options, a dessert bar, and fresh bread selections. In addition, there is always cold cereal for those who can't find anything they like. Campers may eat as much as they like; we just ask that they are responsible in making wise dietary choices, and of course be mindful not to waste food.
