Greenwood Set to Speak at George School

Issued: Wednesday, February 11, 2004

Congressman James C. Greenwood (R-PA) will make a presentation on "The Role the U.S. Plays in the Middle East" on Friday, February 13, 2004, at 10 a.m. The assembly will be held in Walton Center on the campus of George School.

Rep. Greenwood recently concluded a five-day trip to the Middle East where he met with U.S. soldiers, Army Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez (commander of the coalition ground forces), Ambassador Paul Bremer III (administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmad Quraya, and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Rep. Greenwood is a supporter of the "road map" to peace, a comprehensive three-phased plan developed last year by the United States, the United Nations, the European Union, and Russia aimed at creating peace in the Middle East. The "road map" would be carried out over the next three years.
