The George School Orchestra and Chorus will hold their spring concert on Sunday, May 2, 2004 in the Meeting House on the George School campus. The concert performance will begin at 3 p.m. Admission is free and the performance is open to the public. A reception will follow on the patio of the Meeting House.
The George School Orchestra's performance includes musical selections from the Pirates of the Caribbean, Camille Saint-Saen's "Bacchanale" from Samson and Delilah and "Procession of Nobles" from Mlada from composer Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The orchestra is under the direction of Karen Hallowell.
The George School Community Chorus will sing selected works of Aaron Copland's "Old American Songs" and Billy Joel's "And So it Goes." Under the direction of George School teacher Jackie Cohen, the George School chorus is made up of students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and neighbors.
The orchestra will collaborate with the chorus in performing "Gloria" by Antonio Vivaldi for the concert's finale.
