George School Girls Varsity Soccer won the Friends Schools League Championship with a 2-1 victory over top-seeded Germantown Friends School. George School controlled the pace of the play throughout the game, holding GFS scoreless until the final two minutes.

George School teachers Laura Kinnel and Tom Hoopes were part of the fans at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday to watch the Philadephia Phillies win the World Series. Carrying a sign that read "Billy Penn: Forgive Our Excesses. Reverse the Curse!!!" Laura and Tom were stopped and interviewed by Atlantic City Press reporter David Weinberg.

With her broad smile and infectious laugh, Jo Vasquez is a genuine, fun-loving woman who has an innate passion for what she does. Her teaching approach is one that extends beyond textbooks and tests. Jo currently teaches Spanish 1, Intensive Spanish 2, Spanish 3, and Intensive Spanish 3. George School’s Language Department offers comprehensive programs in Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish.

George School’s fall admission open house is scheduled on Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Activities include student-guided campus tours, department and program displays, and opportunities to speak with faculty and current parents. Faculty members from all departments will be on hand to answer questions about academics, including the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs, creative and performing arts, and athletic programs.
