Student-Athlete Named Player of the Year

Issued: Thursday, July 3, 2008

Lisa Bernardini
Lisa Bernardini '08 has been named Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year by the Bucks County Courier Times after a season in which she reached a total of 245 career goals in the sport, setting a record for George School. The award was announced in an article that appeared in the "2008 Spring Golden Teams" section of the newspaper on July 3. The article praised Lisa for her "outstanding season" and "versatility," noting that "Bernardini ended the season as the team leader in every category. She had a team-record 96 goals and 45 assists, figuring into 68 percent of the team's total goals. She also picked up 140 ground balls, had 33 draw controls and 55 forced turnovers in 15 games to show her skills are multi-dimensional." At George School, in addition to setting records for lacrosse, Lisa was the soccer team's leading scorer in each of her four seasons, and she served as a guard on the basketball team. This fall, she will play Division I soccer with Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.  (Photo courtesy of The Bucks County Courier Times)
