Dance Eclectic 2009
All dance and music lovers are invited to Dance Eclectic, an exciting annual production by George School dance students, on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. Held in Walton Center Auditorium, the event is free and open to the public.

The production will include a number of student-choreographed pieces, with music ranging from Philip Glass to Hans Zimmer. George School dance teacher Barb Kibler noted that many of the student choreographers have taken risks, finding new ways to use partnering and lifts and using their compositions to express deeply felt emotions. "We talk about athletes on sports teams finding links and dependence on each other. It surely happens in dance," said Barb. "Each dancer is a part of the 'team,' and without one, the others are at a disadvantage." Dance Eclectic will also feature several dances choreographed by Barb, who drew inspiration from the migration patterns of birds.
