George School Monitors U.S. H1N1 Flu Outbreak

Issued: Friday, November 6, 2009

George School continues to monitor the outbreak of H1N1 influenza (sometimes known as “swine flu”) in the United States. Please visit our H1N1 Influenza Update webpage for information and regular updates about the measures George School is taking to protect the health of the school community.

George School remains vigilant in identifying, isolating, observing, and caring for any student who exhibits flu-like symptoms. We continue to advise students to stay home if they have flu-like symptoms, and we continue to send home day students and local boarders who exhibit such symptoms. Non-local boarders with flu-like symptoms have been and will continue to be properly isolated in the Student Health Center. In accordance with protocols set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all students with flu-like symptoms must be isolated from the student body until they are fever-free for twenty-four hours. We are pleased to report that all of George School’s cases of students with flu-like symptoms have been and continue to be quite mild.
