Kyle Scott, Elizabeth Stevens, and Emily Stevens, were among the area's high school seniors to receive the 2009 Courier-Kiwanis Athletic Awards. The awards honor students who have excelled on the field and in the classroom.  The winners and their families gathered at Newtown Athletic Club for the awards banquet dinner which was highlighted by guest speaker Bob Kaehler, the most decorated athlete in U.S. rowing history.
