George School graduate Barbara Dodd Anderson '50 invited her friend Warren Buffett, one of the nation's leading businessmen and philanthropists, to share in festivities surrounding the ribbon-cutting of the Learning Commons and Mollie Dodd Anderson Library, which Anderson named after her 12-year-old granddaughter reported Manasee Wagh of
The Intelligencer.
During the dedication ceremony, Buffet shared his memories of Barbara's father, Columbia economist David Dodd. Initially rejected by Harvard University, Buffett credited Dodd for offering him a place at Columbia and for mentoring him and becoming his close friend.
