Rick Woelfel of the Bucks County Courier Times reports that science teacher and coach Kathy Coyle “stands out among area coaches.” Kathy “thinks calling the game themselves helps her pitchers and catchers grasp the subtleties of the sport.”

“They need to learn that part of the game,” Kathy said. “It also builds the relationship between pitcher and catcher. I think it’s important that they do that and go through the process.

“One of the reasons I have my catcher call the game is to keep learning. That’s all I ask of my players all season, is that they continue to learn.”
