The New Garden Friends School website recently highlighted Robb Jolly's participation in George School's Global Service Program.
Robb, who teaches Spanish and coordinates the Service Learning program at New Garden Friends School, convened with twenty-two educators from seventeen different schools at George School for two days of workshops conducted by George School faculty in the summer of 2009. After the workshops, he traveled to Cuba along with eight other educators to repair a Quaker church that was damaged in a 2008 hurricane.
“I found that the people were the best part of the trip. They were so warm-hearted and generous, and gave me gifts to bring back to my family. It was both humbling and inspiring, especially considering the relationship between our governments,” Robb said.
