Stone returns to the top level

Issued: Monday, July 20, 2009Author: Karen SangilloPublication: Bucks Mont Sports Now

Bucks Mont Sports Now reports that Jennifer Stone ’00 was a member of the winning team at the 2009 USA Field Hockey Women’s National Championship. Held in late June at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the championship brought together six teams culled from USA Field Hockey’s six regional High Performance Centers.

Each center held open tryouts starting in the spring for athletes of college age or older. Players chosen through that process received elite-level training from some of the country’s top coaches. Ultimately, each center selected a team to compete in the championship. Jennifer competed on the team representing the New Jersey region. According to USA Field Hockey, rosters at the championship included current U.S. National Team stars and recent college All-America selections.

As a student, Jennifer competed on George School’s girls’ field hockey team, becoming the Bucks County Courier Times Player of the Year for field hockey in 1998. She currently serves as the assistant coach for Division I field hockey at Lafayette College, her alma mater.
