Thirteen George School athletes representing soccer, field hockey, and cross country were honored on the Friends Schools League’s roster of fall 2010 all-league teams. A coeducational high school athletic league made up of nine Philadelphia-area independent schools, the Friends Schools League is founded on the principles of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and fosters respectful behavior and good sportsmanship on the playing field.
In girls’ field hockey, Meredith Allen '12 received an honorable mention and Mallory Carcia ’11 was named to the first team. In girls’ cross country, honorable mentions were given to Grace Prial '13 and Chloe Zorn '11. In boys’ soccer, Sean Potter '12 received an honorable mention, while first team honors went to Gabe Haug '12 and Richie Schulz '11. In girls’ soccer, Haleigh Halstead '14 received an honorable mention, and first team honors went to Devin Garfinkle '11, Christina Haney '12, Stephanie Heys '12, Priscilla Wiggins '12, and Kate Wurz '13. In addition, Priscilla was selected for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association’s All-Southeastern Pennsylvania team and the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association’s All-State team.
