"More than 20 George School students joined thousands at Girard College on Monday for the 15th annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service," reports Rachel Canelli of The Intelligencer.

Seniors Jessie Mooberry and Caitlin Brimmer were part of a group of twenty-six students and three faculty members who traveled off campus to participate in the Greater Philadelphia King Day of Service and attend a workshop entitled “We Were There: A Point from the Past to Better the Future” by original members of the Cecil B. Moore Philadelphia Freedom Fighters, a group that worked for civil rights in the 1950s and 1960s.

In Rachel's article, Jessie says, "It was a wonderful experience, the entire thing. It goes along with the George School and our Quaker teachings."

On campus at George School, students, faculty, and staff participated in the school's twenty-first annual commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
