George School Athletes Excel On Bigger Stage

Issued: Sunday, May 9, 2010Author: Joe JonesPublication: Bucks County Courier Times

George School athletes shone against tough competition at the Lady Rocker Invitational at Council Rock North, an event that puts George School up against a number of widely recognized track programs. Emily Mapelli '12 won the 400 meters in 59.67 seconds, setting a school record. Chrissy Haney '12 set a personal record when she won the 300 meters in 47.46 seconds.

"George School's girls track team has experienced quite a bit of success the last two years, both as a team and with individual performances," reports Joe Jones of the Bucks County Courier Times.

In Joe's article, Emily says, "I think an event like this is a great opportunity. We get to see that track and field is much bigger than the Friends League, and getting a chance to compete against them really helps us push our times down."
