The varsity girls' basketball team opened up their season with an exciting victory over Villa Victoria 34-25 in the first round of the Cougar Classic on Friday, December 3, 2010. The Cougars were led by Laety Walendom '11, who scored 14 points and Stephanie Heys '12 with 10 points. Returning starter Jaye Plumb '12 added 4 points along with many rebounds and good defense. Becca Hayden '14 scored her first varsity points as she tallied 4, including 3 of 4 from the free throw line. Defense was definitely a strength as the Cougars pressured the ball all over the court. With the win, they advanced to the finals against Solebury School.
