Girls' Soccer Wins Semifinals Against Westtown

The varsity girls’ soccer team achieved a 7-0 win against Westtown School on Saturday, October 30, 2010, in a semifinal match for the Friends Schools League (FSL) championship. This is the team’s second recent 7-0 win against Westtown—the first took place on October 15.

Stephanie Heys ’12 had three goals and three assists, Priscilla Wiggins ’12 had three goals and one assist, and Kate Wurz ’13 scored a goal. Devin Garfinkle ’11, Chrissy Haney ’12, and Kellie Edelblut ’11 each had an assist, while goalkeeper Lucy Shapiro ’11 faced one shot and made one save.

The team has a season record of 12-5-2 overall, and stands 8-1 in FSL play. The FSL championship match between George School and The Shipley School is scheduled for Wednesday, November 3, at The Shipley School.
