The varsity wrestling team once again opened its season with a match against the Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (SCHA) Blue Devils on November 30, 2011. This was the Cougars second consecutive year traveling to SCHA.

Last Wednesday’s wrestling meet between Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and visiting George School proved to be an exciting set that wasn’t decided until late in the afternoon, reports Tom Utescher of the Chestnut Hill Local.

With pins by captain Peter Verner ’12, who bumped up to 138 lbs., Tommy Lodge-Yanez ’12 at 160 lbs., Cameron Vakili ’15 at 106 lbs., Aidan Greer ’14 at 120 lbs., and Luke Stackhouse ’14 at 132 lbs., George School enjoyed a 40-30 victory over SCHA.

Luke “nailed down a pin later in the opening round and sealed the meet victory for George School,” Tom said in the article. Read more.
