
George School is proud to announce that senior Joshua Platt of Pipersville, Pennsylvania was selected as a semifinalist in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program based on his performance on the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
As a semifinalist, Joshua is among approximately 16,000 high school seniors who will have the opportunity to advance to the Finalist level and compete for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million that will be offered next spring.
In addition, twelve seniors have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program: Maura Egan, Jordan Feingold-Link, Drew Fisher, Cherry Jiang, Samuel Kauker, Sean Laracy, Joseph McNichol, Bryce Miller, Melisandra Paulson, Rose Robinson, Benjamin Rosser, and Gregory Sowiak.
George School's commended students scored among the top 5 percent of the over 1.5 million juniors in United States high schools who entered the 2012 National Merit Program by taking the 2010 PSAT/NMSQT.
Founded in 1955, the National Merit Scholarship Program is a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance to conduct the annual academic competition for recognition and scholarships.
