George School’s annual career workshops have been scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2011. Held annually during an assembly timeslot, career workshops give students a chance to attend a career session of their choice.
This week students are responding to an electronic survey to select workshops from a list of fourteen careers. An earlier survey determined which careers would be most popular with students.
Parent speakers are Judi Buch (criminal justice), Gary Fassler (nurse), and David Graham (photographer).
Alumni speakers are Kareem Afzal ’93 (project engineer), Ted Colegrove ’03 (graphic designer), Pamela Dalton ’72 (researcher), Art Henrie ’47 (entrepreneur), Shari Rosenbloom ’80 (forensic engineer), and Emma Weisser ’05 (social worker).
Other speakers are Phil Beck (journalist), Craig Harris ’05 (City Year teacher), Kevin Kruse (novelist), Kathy Wickline (entertainment industry), and Mark Forker (special effects film maker).
These workshops are a project of the George School Parents Association
Career Workshops Committee chaired by John Harkins.
