The varsity girls’ basketball team enjoyed a victory against Abington Friends School on Tuesday, January 24, 2012.

“Becca Hayden made eight of her nine free throws in the fourth quarter en route to 13 points as George School bested visiting Abington Friends, 39-32,” reports philly.com. Read more.

The atmosphere at the game was energetic, with extra enthusiasm provided by George School's Cougar Crazies—a group of students who appear at athletic events sporting forest green shirts and green-and-white face paint to promote positive energy among George School's fans.

“There is no doubt that the Cougar Crazies played a key part in an important victory for our girls’ varsity basketball team today against league rivals Abington Friends. There is no place that our team would rather play than in Alumni Gym,” said varsity head coach Richard Polgar.
