George School Student Named Gates Millennium Scholar

George School is proud to announce that 2011 graduate Myra Jacobs is one of 1,000 students nationwide to be named a Gates Millennium Scholar. Selected on the basis of academic achievement, community service, and leadership potential, Gates Millennium Scholars receive college scholarships, leadership training, and mentoring. Read more.

Student Poet Receives Five Scholastic Honors
|
With two Silver Keys and three Honorable Mentions, Anneke Solomon ’11 has received a total of five honors for her poetry in the regional portion of the 2011 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, known as the oldest, longest-running, and most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers in the United States. Varsity Girls' Track Ties for FSL Championship
|
After seventeen events over the course of six hours, with nearly two hundred athletes competing for 355 total points, George School was locked in a tie for the 2011 Friends Schools League Girls Track and Field Championship with Germantown Friends, each scoring 124 points. Read more. |
| Varsity Golf Wins Third Consecutive FSL Title |
George School shot 333 to finish second to Abington Friends School in the Friends Schools League (FSL) Championship Tournament on Monday, May 16, 2011, but it was good enough for the Cougars to clinch the FSL title for the third consecutive year. Read more. |
