Admission Open House Scheduled October 23
George School’s fall admission Open House is scheduled for Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Activities include student-guided campus tours, department and program displays, and opportunities to speak with faculty and current parents. Faculty members from all departments will be on hand to answer questions about academics, creative and performing arts, and athletic programs. Read more.
Student Film Takes Top Prize at Bucks Fever FilmFest
"La Continuidad de los Parques," a Spanish-language short film created by senior Tommy Lodge-Yanez and four of his classmates, was among eleven winning films screened at the eleventh annual Bucks Fever FilmFest on October 16. Read more.
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist and Commended Students Announced
George School is proud to announce that senior Joshua Platt of Pipersville, Pennsylvania was selected as a semifinalist in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program based on his performance on the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Read more.
The Curious George Receives Gold
The Curious George, George School’s student newspaper, received Gold Medalist standing from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA). Gold is the highest level awarded as part of the association’s Scholastic Print News Critique process, which assesses school newspapers in the areas of essentials, verbal, and visual content. Poet Philip Levine Shares Insights with Students
U.S. Poet Laureate Philip Levine shared insights about his life and poetry at an all-school assembly on Monday, October 3, 2011. He talked about his relationship with poetry in a straight-forward, matter-of-fact style, not mincing any words and was truly funny about "how unpeopled poetry had become" when he first started writing.
