| Civil Rights Pioneer Activist Julian Bond Visits George School |
George School welcomed civil rights pioneer H. Julian Bond '57 to campus for an all-school assembly and discussions with students and faculty. Julian was joined by Mark K. Updegrove '80, director of the Lyndon B. Johnson Library in Austin, Texas. During the assembly, Mark interviewed Julian about his experiences as a politician, civil rights and student activist, and his remembrances of being one of the few African-American students at George School. | Alumnus Exhibits Fiber Art at George School |
Physician, author, professor, former Swarthmore College president, consultant, scholar, fiber artist, and unquestionable Renaissance man David Fraser '61 is exhibiting his work in the Class of 1956 Gallery at the Mollie Dodd Anderson Library. The show, called "Twisted Logic," reveals the beauty, complexity, and geometry of his fiber art. Read more. |
| Exhibit Displays Talents of George School Arts Faculty |
Generally known for inspiring students with their words, five George School artist-teachers can now inspire them with their works. From September 5 to October 7, the breadth and depth of the visual arts faculty's creative talents are on display in the Walton Center gallery. Read more. |
| Community Chorus to Sing Messiah |
More than forty members of the George School community came together on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. for the first Community Chorus rehearsal of the 2011-12 season in the meetinghouse. This year, the Community Chorus is rehearsing the Christmas portion of Messiah and the "Hallelujah" Chorus. The Community Chorus concert is scheduled for Sunday, February 12, 2012. Read more. |
