Tommy Lodge-Yanez '12

Langhorne, Pennsylvania
Day Student

“I really like sports and play on a team all three seasons. There is always something active you can do here, whether it is taking a walk, playing Four Square, or joining a pick-up soccer game.”

How does George School’s Quaker heritage affect your experience here?

During your first term at George School, you take a course called Essentials of a Friends Community. This class is really great. We learned about Quakerism and its role here at George School. It taught me why we are silent in meeting for worship and why George School is committed to community service. And it helped connect activities that we do on campus to the reasons why we do them.

The academics at George School are very strong, but really, the school teaches you how to be a good person, how to be respectful, and how to accept people for who they really are.

More about Tommy:

Tommy is taking both Chinese and Spanish at George School so he will be able to communicate in the world’s four most-spoken languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, and Mandarin. On three varsity teams—soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse—he claims soccer as his favorite, having played it “since before I can remember.”
