The International Student Sponsors plan and run the International Student Orientation (ISO) that takes place one week before school begins. The ISO is designed to help new students acclimate to a new time zone, American culture, and a new home. By the end of the weeklong ISO program, students have learned tips on how to thrive in the George School classroom, have had some rest and relaxation, and have made new friends.

During the year, our sponsors work closely with students to make sure their experience at George School is meaningful, assist them with travel plans, arrange for home stays with George School families during school breaks, and plan a student assembly to formally introduce them and their country’s culture to the George School community.

International Student Mentors

In addition to our faculty sponsors, a number of experienced George School students serve as mentors for international students. They are selected for their leadership skills and their experience and understanding of what it means to be a new international student at George School. Mentors are important ISO participants and continue to provide support for international students throughout the year.
