DeadlinesFebruary 1. The deadline for submitting Financial Aid applications for the 2012-2013 school year is Wednesday. Applications can be submitted online through School and Student Service (SSS by NAIS). You will need the George School SSS Code: 3364. Upload or mail the required supporting documentation to SSS by the designated deadlines in order to guarantee the availability of financial aid funds. Applications received after that date will be considered if funds remain available. Visit Applying for Aid for more information.
February 6. Registration for the Parent Party at Rose Bank winery is due today.
February 20. Independent service project applications for students planning to participate in a project during spring break are due Monday, February 20. If you have any questions, contact Bev Trautwein for information.
July 16. Proof of student health insurance is required. If we do not receive verification of your child’s private health insurance by July 16, 2012, he/she will be automatically enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare plan offered by George School and you will be billed for the $1,895 annual fee.
August 1. Returning student health forms for 2012-2013 are now on the Parent Gateway. Physical exams must be performed between March 1 and August 1, so schedule your child's physical now in order to avoid the $50 late fee that will be billed for physical exams received after August 1, 2012.

February 2. August Leming, the president of the Source Institute for Human Performance which provides fitness training at George School, will be speaking on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Pennington School. He will discuss ways to help children focus in a world of distractions.
February 3. The Conference Day schedule begins Friday morning. Classes end at noon. Parents can attend morning workshops for college guidance, course planning, and more.
February 3-7. All dorms close for mid-winter break on Friday, February 3 and reopen on Tuesday, February 7. This is a good opportunity to invite a boarder who lives at a distance to join your child at home for the break. Please email Ginny Eccles in the Deans’ Office or call 215.579.6589.

Parents Association meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Library Conference Room featuring some highlights from the latest brain research and its impact on learning, especially with young adults. More details to come. A light meal is available in the meetinghouse from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m.
March 2. Video Festival, student work from the Video Production classes, on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Walton Center.
March 8-26. Spring break begins after a student’s last exam on March 8. Boarders return by 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26.

March 28 to April 27. International Baccalaureate (IB) Exhibition in Main Lobby, Walton Center Gallery, Hallowell Arts Center, and Class of 1956 Gallery, Anderson Library.
March 29. A photographer will be available on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Main Lobby to take senior portraits. RemindersAll-School Photo. The popular panoramic all-school photograph was taken on October 28 and is a wonderful way to remember your student's time at George School. Annual Fund. The Parent Annual Fund Committee would like to remind you of their goal of 100 percent participation; gifts of all sizes are appreciated. If you are not yet ready to make a payment, please consider making a pledge today and sending your payment before June 30. If you have any questions or would like to make a pledge of support, please contact us.
Assemblies. Parents are welcome to attend assemblies on Fridays at 10:25 a.m. in Walton Center. Check the calendar for program information.
Bad Weather Policy. As a boarding school, classes are rarely canceled even when buses are not running. We rely on your judgment about whether or not your child should come to school in the morning or leave early during the day. Please review our Bad Weather Policy.
Birthday Cakes for Boarders. Order a birthday cake for your child. Forms are online.
Bookstore. Visit our online bookstore this month for your favorite warm hoodie, knit hat, or sweatpants.
Bus Transportation Schedule. If your school district provides bus transportation to George School, you need to confirm that they are in service during holidays when we hold classes. Visit the transportation page for contact information.

Ground Transportation Information. If your child is traveling and needs ground transportation assistance to campus, please visit the transportation page for contact information.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Examinations. The registration process for IB exams in May is underway. All fees for exams are set by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Online Billing. Monthly statements of George School charges are available online at GS Accounts Online. Payments can also be made online or mailed to George School Business Office, PMB 4482, 1690 Newtown Langhorne Road, Newtown PA 18940-2414.
Parents Association Archives. To view recordings of Parents Association webcast meetings, go to our secure portal—my.georgeschool.org—enter your password, and login. Then select Parents Association. You will see a list of recorded meetings under Parents Association Meetings.
Parents Association Future Meetings. Parents Association meetings are held in the Anderson Library Conference Room on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on February 28, 2012, and May 15, 2012. All meetings are webcast.
Spring Break Travel Plans. Boarding parents should contact Ginny Eccles in the Deans’ Office with specific travel information for spring break.
The SOURCE Institute for Human Performance at George School has a host of professional services available to parents and students, including individual training sessions, small group training, and team training. If you plan on exercising, the SOURCE Institute at George School is the place to do it. Please call 215.579.6698 or email to schedule your first complimentary session.
Weekend Activities. On Wednesday afternoons the Deans’ Office posts information about weekend activities and special events.
