DeadlinesMarch 1. Time to schedule your child’s physical. Physicals must be performed between March 1 and August 1, 2011. There is a $50 late fee for any returning student physical received after August 1.
July 15. Proof of student health insurance is required. If we do not receive verification of your child’s private health insurance by July 15, 2011, he/she will be automatically enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare plan offered by George School and you will be billed for the $1,640 annual fee.

Upcoming EventsMarch 1. The next Parents Association meeting is Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Library Conference Room. Parents are welcome to eat dinner prior to the meeting in Main dining room from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. The meeting is webcast for those unable to come to campus.
March 3-21. Spring break begins after a student’s last exam on March 3. Boarders return by 7:00 p.m. on March 21.
March 22. Classes resume at 8:00 a.m.
March 31. A photographer will be available on Thursday, March 31 in Main Lobby to take senior portraits. A sign-up sheet for seniors to schedule their portrait-sitting appointments is available in the lower level of West Main, Office 11. For more information contact Carol Wozniak.
April 10. Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Sunday, April 10, gives students a chance to share meeting for worship and a complimentary luncheon with special friends. Please email us the names and addresses of the grandparents and other individuals you would like us to invite by mail.
April 15-17. You are invited to participate in the 26th annual Sibling Weekend. This is the weekend that younger brothers and sisters take over the campus and everyone has a great time!
April 22. Good Friday classes end at noon.
May 2. Career Workshops for students. Contact Parents Association Chair John Harkins by email or phone at 215.493.1962 if you are interested in talking about your career with small groups of students on Monday morning, May 2.
May 13 to 15. Alumni Weekend. Parents and students are invited to participate in Alumni Weekend activities.
May 22. The Cougar Classic golf tournament will be held at the Middletown Country Club in Langhorne, PA. Each year, the friendly and competitive outing helps to raise funds for the George School Athletic Department. Friends of the school, students, alumni, faculty and staff, as well as parents of current and past George School students are all welcome to participate in this fun event.
May 27. No classes.

May 30. Memorial Day, no classes.
May 31 to June 3. Final exams. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors leave after last exam.

Commencement and Year End Events. Visit our website for information about the senior dinner dance, commencement, and other end-of-school year activities for juniors and seniors.
Bad Weather Policy. As a boarding school, classes are rarely canceled even when buses are not running. We rely on your judgment about whether or not your child should come to school in the morning or leave early during the day. Please review our Bad Weather Policy.
Online Billing. Monthly statements of George School charges are available online at GS Accounts Online. Payments also can be made online or mailed to George School Business Office, PMB 4482, 1690 Newtown Langhorne Road, Newtown PA 18940-2414.

George School Bookstore. Visit our online bookstore this month for your favorite warm hoodie, knit hat, or sweatpants.
Bettye’s Bucks. If you are interested in purchasing Bettye’s Bucks, coupons used for food purchases at the snack bar in Marshall Center, contact Joe Ducati at 215.579.6552.
Birthday Cake. Order a birthday cake for a boarding student. Forms are online.
Assemblies. Parents are welcome to attend assemblies in Walton Center on Fridays at 10:25 a.m. and on some Mondays throughout the school year. Check the calendar for program information.
Weekend Activities. On Wednesday afternoons the Deans' Office posts information about weekend activities and special events.
Parent Association Meetings. Meetings for 2011 are scheduled on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on March 1, and May 17. Minutes from prior meetings are available on our website.
Parent Annual Fund. The Parent Annual Fund Committee urges you to please consider making your gift or pledge today so we can reach our goal of 100 percent participation. As of February 25, we are at 41 percent. Donations are due June 30.
