Upcoming EventsOctober 28 to December 16. Randy Bolton exhibits printmaking work on campus.
November 4 to 6. Freshmen and new sophomore students are required to attend workshops given by consultants from the Freedom from Chemical Dependency Foundation. Students will attend two workshops during the weekend.
November 11 and 13. Study Weekend.
November 14 to 17. Term 1 exams are held this week. Students leave for break after their last exam. Visit our secure portal for your child's exam schedule.
November 17. School portrait retake day is on Thursday. Forms available online.
November 18. The Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon will be held on Friday in Main dining room. Parents can bring food or help by making a monetary donation so that we can supplement the food and flowers needed. Send checks to Odie LeFever, PMB 4438 at George School. December 6. Parents Association meeting is held in the Anderson Library Conference Room on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. A light meal is held beforehand in the meetinghouse from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m.
December 17. The Winter Formal will be held on Saturday in the beautifully decorated Marshall Center from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Ladies are expected to wear formal or semi-formal attire and gentlemen are to wear a suit jacket or shirt and tie.
December 20. Classes end at noon on Tuesday.
December 21 to January 3. Holiday break.
January 3. Boarders return by 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
January 4. Classes resume.

RemindersInternational Baccalaureate (IB) Examinations. The registration process for IB exams in May is underway. All fees for exams are set by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Winter Formal Snacks Needed. Cookies, brownies, veggies and dip, pretzels, cheese trays, and fruit trays are needed for the annual winter formal dance on Saturday, December 17. Snacks can be dropped off on Friday, December 16 in the basement of West Main or on Saturday December 17 at the Deans’ Office. Questions? Parents Association Volunteer Opportunities. Please take a moment to look at the descriptions of the volunteer opportunities available for the 2011-2012 school year and sign-up via this electronic survey. We particularly need volunteers for the Bookstore, Café ’83, Lasagna Dinner, and Party Planning Committees. Please contact committee chairs directly if you have questions.
Parents Association Future Meetings. Parents Association meetings are held in the Anderson Library Conference Room on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on December 6, 2011, February 28, 2012, and May 15, 2012. All meetings are webcast.
Annual Fund. You will receive the “Three Reasons Why” appeal brochure in the mail shortly. Parent Annual Fund Committee members will begin making phone calls to request your support later this month. Their goal is 100 percent participation; gifts of all sizes are appreciated. If you are not yet ready to make a payment, please consider making a pledge today and sending your payment before June 30. If you have any questions or would like to make a pledge of support, please contact us at annualfund@georgeschool.org.
The SOURCE Institute for Human Performance at George School has a host of professional services available to parents and students, including individual training sessions, small group training and team training. All-School Photo. The popular panoramic all-school photograph was taken on October 28 and makes a great holiday gift. To order the all-school photo or individual class photos, order online at panfoto.com.
Thanksgiving Travel Plans. Boarding parents should contact Ginny Eccles in the Deans’ Office with specific travel information for the Thanksgiving break.
Ground Transportation Information. If your child is traveling and needs ground transportation assistance to campus, please visit the transportation page for contact information.
George School Bookstore online. Visit our online bookstore this month for your favorite sweatshirt, hat, or socks.
Parents Association Archives. To view recordings of Parents Association webcast meetings, go to our secure portal—my.georgeschool.org—enter your password, and login. Then select Parents Association. You will see a list of recorded meetings under Parents Association Meetings.
Online Billing. Monthly statements of George School charges are available online at GS Accounts Online. Payments can also be made online or mailed to George School Business Office, PMB 4482, 1690 Newtown Langhorne Road, Newtown PA 18940-2414.

Bus Transportation Schedule. If your school district provides bus transportation to George School, you need to confirm that they are in service during holidays when we hold classes. Visit the transportation page for contact information.
Assemblies. Parents are welcome to attend assemblies on Fridays at 10:25 a.m. in Walton Center. Check the calendar for program information.
Weekend Activities. On Wednesday afternoons the Deans’ Office posts information about weekend activities and special events.
