China Parent Association Letter to Parents Association

Dear Mrs. Sara Pinkus, Mrs. Kim Scott, and George School Parents Association,

We are delighted to receive your letter that Ms. Joanna Storrar brought to us when she visited Shanghai, China last week. Thank you very much for your kindly regards to China parents and families. We felt so much welcomed to the George School community from your kind words.

We had a very good meeting with Joanna on November 7 in Shanghai Hotel. More than 30 parents from different cities in China, including Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen, joined the meeting. Some of them live very far away and they had to fly to Shanghai for the meeting. Joanna shared with us a lot of great news from George School, such as the opening of the new library. She also presented us lots of work that the parent association has been doing to help with the school and the children. We are greatly moved by your genuine love to children, not only to the children from your own family and your own nation but also to children from all over the world. We would like to thank you for your sincere help to our children at school. Meanwhile, we would like to contribute to the George School community as well. Some parents donated to the school fund during the meeting.

We are glad to share with you that the George School China Parent Association was formed during the meeting. We have set up a website for the China parents to share news from the George School, their good experience to work with their children and to also get support from each other. You are welcomed to take a look at our website at http://www.gschinaparents.org/.

We are very happy to know that, same as the George School, the Parents Association also embraces a diversity of different cultures. We appreciate your understanding of Chinese culture and your effort to encourage your children to learn about the Chinese culture and to make friends with Chinese students. At the same time, we would be very interested in knowing more about the American culture and custom, and we would like to encourage our own children to be more open and comprehensive, and we would like to encourage them to make friends with the U.S. students too.

We also hope that the liaison between the Parents Association in the United States will be more frequent and closer. If there is any chance that you come to visit China in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will be glad to host you and to share with you more about the Chinese culture.

Best regards,

George School China Parent Association
