Athletics Capital Initiative

George School is poised to make major new investments in athletics. With the best environment and tools our students can concentrate on what’s really important—testing their limits, working together for a common purpose, finding satisfaction in reaching their potential, and developing important skills that they will take into many other areas of their lives.

“At George School we have always known that athletics and physical fitness must play a central role in the lives of all our students,” said David P. Bruton ’53, former clerk of the George School Committee. “Providing the facilities to support this is an integral part of our mission as a school. We owe our students nothing less.”

The first step of the project is the installation of a new all-weather running track and synthetic turf field. The new track includes a 120-meter, eight-lane sprint straight as part of a six-lane 400-meter oval, in line with the best competitive facilities available today. The new sports field has an all-weather turf that will dramatically increase the field's use, accommodating football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and other field sports. Read more.

The next step is improving other athletic facilities. We envision building a new athletics and fitness center and enhancing the equestrian program. Stay tuned for information about these plans.

Join us in making these facilities a reality. Please consider making a donation for the Cougar Track and Cougar Field. Your participation will honor all those whose dedication and hard work have made George School athletics such an important part of the history and life of our community.
