HOW ARE OUTRIGHT GIFTS USUALLY MADE? Outright Gifts are usually made in the form of Cash, by check or credit card or Appreciated Assets, such publically-traded stocks, other forms of appreciated publically-traded securities, closely held stock, real estate, art, or jewelry.

- You receive immediate recognition for your gift.
Tax Benefits include:
- You receive a Charitable Deduction for the market value of your gift.
- You can deduct up to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) for a cash gift, and up to 30% of your AGI for a gift of appreciated assets (while avoiding all capital gains taxes on the contribution of appreciated assets).
- Any portion of your charitable deduction unused in the year of your gift may be carried forward and used to reduce income tax for up to five additional years.
