|Go “undercover” this summer with George School’s School of Spies (SOS) Summer Academy!
Taught by George School faculty, the two-week SOS program blends classroom instruction on topics such as coding, investigative journalism, espionage history, and forensic science with field based activities like orienteering, scavenger hunts, yoga, and kayaking. Offered to students aged 11 to 14 the program provides the opportunity to be immersed in an intellectually enriching and engaging academic environment. George School’s Summer Academy introduces younger students to the creative, critical, and reflective thinking that are hallmarks of the Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses offered at George School. For international students, the program offers intensive English Learner Lessons (ELL).
Taking place on the beautiful 240-acre George School campus in Newtown Pennsylvania, Summer Academy students will explore the world of secret agents while enriching their minds and fostering skills that will enhance their educational successes. Not only will students partake in on-campus activities, but classes may go on excursions to the many culturally and educationally rich sites nearby, including an overnight trip to Washington DC with visits to the Newseum and the world renowned Spy Museum.
George School’s Summer Academy is designed to be both an intellectually challenging and a fun program for day and boarding students. Children are invited to challenge themselves both physically and mentally and expand their horizons. The residential program includes all meals, evening and weekend activities, and transportation to and from Philadelphia International Airport. Lunch is included for day program participants, and before and after care is available.
