George School Hosts Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce Event

George School Trustee Toni Yonce chats with Karen O’Donnell of St. Mary Medical Center during Thursday’s event.

George School was pleased to host the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce (LBCCC) monthly keynote breakfast on Thursday, January 11, 2018, an event sponsored by St. Mary Medical Center. The LBCCC is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary this year.

Representatives from local businesses gathered in the George School Meetinghouse for a networking event. Head of School Sam Houser welcomed the crowd saying, “The meetinghouse is actually older than George School itself,” referencing the building’s history. “Our students, who are teenagers, gather here once, sometimes twice a week, and sit in complete silence for forty minutes. It is a pretty special place.”

Sam also spoke about how George School serves the larger community. “We are a resource for the entire community,” he said. “We offer a full day childcare center, summer camp, a year-round aquatic program, and a summer equestrian program. All of these programs are open to the public.”

Following the meeting guests were offered tours of the Fitness and Athletics Center and Mollie Dodd Anderson Library.
