Conference Day and Night 2018

Please plan to join us for Conference Night, Monday, January 29 and Conference Day, Friday, February 2. You will have an opportunity to attend activities and workshops and meet with teachers. Information about these and other activities are listed below.

Conference scheduling opens for parent self-scheduling on December 18 for both Conference Night and Conference Day. The schedule closes on January 24 for Conference Night and January 30 for Conference Day scheduling.

To schedule a conference visit the portal. If you are not able to set up conferences in advance, you may arrange for phone conferences or you may set up appointments to meet on another day that is convenient for the teachers and you. Please feel free to call the teachers and advisors during the school week—Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.—throughout the year.

Course Planning Conferences (10 minutes each)
If you are the parent of a freshman or sophomore and you have not talked to your child’s advisor about long-range course planning, you might want to arrange for a course planning conference with the advisor, director of studies, or registrar. For additional course planning details, please attend the appropriate morning workshop (Planning a Course of Study for Freshmen or Planning a Course of Study for Sophomores) or visit the Courses and Course Planning page.

Junior Parent Program: College Planning 101
Juniors are required to attend and their parents are strongly encouraged to join the College Counseling Office as they present College Planning 101 for Juniors. We look forward to welcoming Darryl Jones, senior associate director of admissions, coordinator for multicultural admission and intercollegiate athletics liaison at Gettysburg College as our keynote speaker. The program will discuss trends in college admissions and what juniors and their parents can expect in the months to come as they prepare to submit their college applications. The session will be recorded for parents who are not able to attend.

Mid-winter break begins after a student’s last school commitment on Friday, February 2, 2018. There are no classes on Monday, February 5, 2018

Boarders return to campus by 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5. Classes resume at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
