Community Chorus. All are welcome to join our Community Chorus, no experience necessary and there is no audition. The only requirement is a willingness to commit to regular Sunday evening (7:00 to 9:00 p.m.) rehearsals from September 11 until February 12. Featured work, “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi. The performance is Sunday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. Rehearsals and the performance are held in the meetinghouse. Contact Jackie Coren, director at 215.579.6666 for more information.
Community Directory. An online, dynamic community directory is available to all members of the community online. This online directory gives you access to our current information in our database of emails, phones, and hometowns. Please click here to review your listing.
Community Handbook. If you have not already acknowledged that you and your child have read the handbook, click here to do so immediately. Your child is responsible for adhering to the expectations laid out in the handbook, and it is critical that you understand these expectations clearly. If you have questions about any of the information in the handbook, please call Eric Wolarsky in the Deans’ Office at 215.579.6589.
Contact Information. We use your email, telephone number, and address information to reach you in case of an emergency and to share the latest campus news. If you have any changes in contact information, including home address, or phone numbers please update the information online asap. Also please keep your child’s cell phone number current. If you need help logging in, contact email@example.com.
Debit Accounts for Students. George School’s Student Debit Account System allows parents to establish a spending account for their child. Students can make cash withdrawals at the student bank as well as charge food and other purchases at the bookstore and Bettye’s Place. When the Student Bank in the Business Office is closed, students can make cash withdrawals in the Deans’ Office. Parents can review their child’s debit account balance and purchasing activity, as well as add funds to an account at any time online. Drivers Education. Our driver’s education program is available through Duncan School of Driving, a nationwide online program. Students can take the course online at their own pace. Excused Absences. Students who observe a religious holiday such as Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, or Eid al-Adha may receive an excused absence, but it is important to notify the Attendance Office at 215.579.6593 if your child will be absent that day.
Forms Library. Find quick links and forms you need for everything from health forms and birthday cake requests to laptop specifications and bike registration. Access the library online.
Grandparent Information Needed. We would like to share invitations to Grandparents and Special Friends Day and publications such as By George and the Georgian, as well as other special announcements to the grandparents of our students. Please provide their contact information here.
Honor Roll and Head of School’s List. George School is pleased to announce the students that were named to the Honor Roll and/or Head of School’s List for Term 1 of the 2016-2017 academic year. More than 300 students were named to both the Honor Roll and Head of School’s List. Read more.
Laundry Service for Boarding Students. There are two options for student laundry. A wash and fold service is $300 for the entire school year. Students may drop off and pick up their laundry in Main Building between 6:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It is helpful if students’ clothing is marked with their names. You may sign up here for this service. Coin-operated machines are also available in the dorms for student use. Washers are $1.25 per load and dryers are $1.00 per load.
One Book Program. Members of the George School community are reading Between the World and Me, a book that contains a series of essays written by Ta-Nehisi Coates as letters to his son. Learn more.
Parents Association. Check the Parents Association section for the latest news.
Parking for Students. Students who drive to campus need to register their car and request a parking permit. This form is available online. Students must park in the Fitness and Athletics Center parking lot.
Performance and Wellness. George School Performance and Wellness (GSPW), is a program that emphasizes personal development through physical activity, athletic performance, and optimal health. Learn more.
Quaker Meetings. You and your family are encouraged to participate in Quaker worship on any Sunday at any of the several meetinghouses in this area. To get more information about individual Friends meetings in the Bucks County area and their times of worship, visit the Bucks Quarterly Meeting website.
Student Performances. Recent student performances, filmed in Walton Center, are available for viewing online.
Travel for Boarding Students. Please use the Travel Information Form to tell the Deans’ Office about your child’s transportation plans for the major George School vacations. This year, the major vacation dates are:
- Thanksgiving Break: November 17 (depart after 12:00 p.m.) to November 28 (return in the afternoon or evening)
- Winter Break: December 21 (depart after 12:00 p.m.) to January 3 (return in afternoon or evening)
- Spring Break: March 2 (depart after 12:00 p.m.) to March 20 (return in afternoon or evening)
