Isabella Lin ’18

Newtown, Pennsylvania Day Student
“In Colette Weber’s Higher Level English class, every student’s voice was heard—in discussions, jokes, presentations, and reflections. I was surprised at my own excitement for English class.”

Describe a memorable George School course.

In my sophomore year, I challenged myself to take on AP Studio Art. In the course of one year, I completed twelve paintings with the same medium, color scheme, and thematic purpose. It was a daunting process, but my teacher was a supportive influence and kept me on track with deadlines.

At the end of the year, my twelve concentration pieces were displayed in the lobby of Walton. Walking into assembly and seeing my exhibition was exciting and fulfilling, and I was beyond humbled to have the opportunity to share the fruits of my labor with the George School community.
