Samaya Mayes ’18

George Washington University
Samaya loved cheering on the Cougar Crazy fans who love George School athletic competitions.

What sports were you involved in at George School? Were they new for you?

I had been cheerleading since middle school so it was not that hard to adjust to cheerleading at George School. My freshman year was great, and the captains were so encouraging. I loved cheer and couldn’t wait to be a captain.

I also played softball. Before I came to George School, I had never played softball, but within a year, I was a starting pitcher on JV. I enjoyed it a lot and was always excited for spring term.

What is special about living in the dorm?

Having a roommate is great because you have a peer to talk to every day who’s going through the same things as you.
