George School students Annarose King ’19, Jiayi Luo ’20, Catherine Orescan ’19, and Freddy Smith ’18 were named finalists in the Bucks County High School Poet of the Year contest sponsored by Bucks County Community College. Nearly two hundred entries from across the county were received.

This year’s entries were “particularly strong” said contest coordinator Ethel Rankin. The judges, current Poet Laureate and George School Board of Trustees member Katherine Falk and last year’s Poet Laureate, Karen McClung, found it particularly difficult to single out winners from among the contest’s finalists.

All four George School finalists are members of ARGO, George School’s student-run literary magazine and are all outstanding English students.

This year’s reception, at which all entrants are invited to read, will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Tyler Hall, Room 142, on the Newtown campus of Bucks County Community College. All are welcome to attend.
